Campaign Kickoff / Fundraiser Huge Success!!!

Our campaign kickoff / fundraiser was a huge success! We had approximately 200 people in attendance. The food was outstanding, Royce kept everyone laughing, the candidates gave inspiring speeches, and MC Don Baker kept the crowd charged up!

Our publicity team did an outstanding job helping bring everything together. They are top-notch! Mr. Klusendorf, the owner of Sky Harbor, had a beautiful setup. We owe him a great deal of thanks!

Current District 150 teachers, retired teachers, and supporters from all walks of life came together to help us kick off our campaign with style. We are grateful!!!

We are setting up "meet and greets" with schools -- by area. Keep an eye out for an invitation in your mailbox! We look forward to meeting with all of you in the very near future!

Unsatisfactory Evaluations -- URGENT!

Teachers! If any of you received an "unsatisfactory" evaluation and the evaluation process wasn't followed, please contact us immediately! 309-339-9210. You only have ten days to file a grievance; if the evaluation process wasn't followed, you need to file a grievance immediately. We will help you do so! We will support you!

If you're being told that nothing can be done about "unsatisfactory" evaluations because evaluation issues aren't "contract issues," don't give up! Call us! We will make your situation a priority and will do everything in our power to get results.

Again, it's imperative that you contact us immediately so we can assess your situation and (if at all possible) file a grievance.

We are not out to promote "bad teaching," but excellent teachers and teachers who have the potential to be outstanding don't seem to be getting a fair shake. That's unacceptable. We won't stand for it.

Schools SAVED!

At tonight's board meeting, President David Gorenz announced that there will be no school consolidations next year; further, he stated that there will be no layoffs.

But don't think that this is the end of the road . . .

We teachers must ensure that over the next several months we are at the forefront of the district's decision-making process.  We must demand budget transparency while offering our own solutions to the budget crisis.

Put one in the record books for us!
